1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading or using the Practice Bean mobile app or this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Roaren Media LLC ("we", "us").
2. The service
Practice Bean is a guide to specialty coffee shops. It lists shops that our evaluators have approved against our published standard, shows them on a map and near you, and lets you keep a personal log of the shops you visit — with a rating and notes — that you can share with friends. We may add, change, or remove features as the app evolves.
3. Your account
You can browse approved shops without an account. To log visits and add friends, you need an account, which you can create with your email or with Google or Apple. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Try to access other people's accounts or our systems without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use a display name, profile photo, or notes that are offensive or harassing, or that impersonate someone else
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. Price
Practice Bean is free. There are no purchases or subscriptions in the app.
6. Your content
You own the ratings, notes, and photos you add. You give us permission to store them and to show them as the app describes: your display name and photo to other signed-in users, and your visit log to you and the friends you've accepted. That's all we use them for.
7. Shop listings and certification
Shop approvals reflect our evaluators' judgement against our standard at the time of evaluation. They are our opinion, not a guarantee of any particular cup of coffee. Shop details such as hours and addresses can change, so check with the shop before you make a special trip. Shops are not affiliated with Practice Bean, and they cannot pay to be listed.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, written content, and branding, belongs to Roaren Media LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don't give you any rights to our name or branding.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roaren Media LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to $50.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from inside the app — see the data deletion page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
